About MamboJazz

by Manu & Jasmin

The music style Salsa emerged in the 1950's from a conflation of Jazz elements, Latin Jazz, and afrocuban rhythms.
Up until today Salsa music and dance has gone through a lot of variation through the years and incorporated elements of many other music and dance styles.

Mambo is one of the original music styles, Salsa emerged from, and it is one of many different styles of the salsa dance.
The dance style Mambo is characterised by emphasising the count 2. This is why it is also called Salsa On 2.

Manu and Jasmin met at Prague Salsa Marathon in September 2018 dancing Mambo, Chacha and Son a whole weekend. Jasmin moved to London and from that moment on they trained together intensively and started performing and teaching together in April 2019 under the name MamboJazz, which represents their favourite music and dance style and is also built from their initials.

London is one of the most vibrant Salsa places in Europe with a huge and continuously growing Salsa community. We are very proud and happy to be part of this big community!

In July 2020 we moved to Munich (Germany) and due to the pandemic situation still can't start classes and social dance parties indoors. But meanwhile we dance and teach outdoors in the heart of Munich. See all details here.
